PM James Marape K59m for Road Projects for EHP

Break up of K59 Million for Eastern Highlands Province targets mainly road infrastructure projects in the Province.

The Eastern Highlands Provincial Government, fortunately, has a total of 15 PIP in the 2021 Development Budget.

From these PIPs, 12 project warrants were released in the first quarter as per the Prime Ministers Commitments, while 3 were not, which are:

(1) Henganofi Ramu Road-K4.0m:

(2) Bena Ramu Road-K2.0m and

(3) Goroka Agriculture Park-K3.0m

A total of K52.0m has already being drawn down to EHP for early project preparation and implementation and encourage the Provincial Government to deliver in compliance to the PIP process such as Tendering, PSC meeting, M&E, Reporting and others.

Detailed breakup are as follows:

  1. Goroka Market Redevelopment – K2M
  2. Goroka Town Sewerage – K3M
  3. Kainantu Secondary School – K4M
  4. Okapa-Kripaga-Gimi Road – K4M
  5. Daulo Mando Road – K5M
  6. Lufa-Okapa Road – K4M
  7. Kainantu Town Roads – K4M
  8. Kainantu-Aiyura Road – K4M
  9. Umba-Marawaka-Sindeni Road – K4M
  10. Goroka District Roads – K4M
  11. Goroka Town Roads – K10M
  12. Lufa District Roads – K4M

Department of National Planning and Monitoring as its mandatory function will closely provide oversight on these to ensure projects are effectively implemented.

  1. it was mentioned here that the money was credited to the EHP government account but there is no tangible changes for the mentioned project sites except for Goroka where the PM is doing well.
